With dusk approaching and the tide high, the kelp bed is amplified with the sound of croaking and the tiny clicks of shrimp far below. As I lay on the surface I notice movement at 4:00. A single seabass glides below me a few few away causing me to instinctivley freeze and go into predator mode. I glide down upon the top of a pinnacle and gaze out into the kelp bed where the fish has disappeared into. Out of nowhere a different fish cruises up along the bottom only to find me waiting with my 55" Daryl Wong Hybrid. In the slow-mo shot, you can hear my slip tip digging into the reef after exiting the fish. It actually got stuck in this kind of soft, spongy rock and took me 3-4 more dives to get it out. It was strangely still sharp though...go figure.
